Welcome to e-Socrates.org,
the free Moodle hosting with ethic in mind.
What does e-Socrates.org do?
e-Socrates.org aims to create the best free Moodle hosting service for everyone who wants to do e-learning activities. If you want to create a course, login or create a new account and fill a course request, you'll have the full moodle power in your hands, without restrictions of any kind! You'll also be able track your students subscriptions setting a password for the course enrolment.
And what about ethics?
This is THE question, as you may know we strongly believe that knowledge is a whole humanity's heritage (that's why we created the e-Socrates.org community). When you create a course within e-Socrates you always allow website visitors the right to read your contents, you can prevent them from subscribing as students but you can't prevent them from accessing the material. This is the only "fee" we ask teachers in change of the free hosting service.
Do not delete or hide
When you'll finish your course please do not delete or hide the material you uploaded, it will be so useful for readers in the future. If you delete or hide your material right after the usage we've to say that you're acting against e-Socrates.org's policy and ethics.
You've to be polite
Offensive material won't be tolerated, your course will be closed and you'll be banned instantly. You also assure us that you won't publish copyrighted material.
Zero tolerance spam policy
If you spam on e-Socrates you'll be deleted and banned forever without any advice, do not create a course only to link your paid material and do not contact users without their approval.
e-Socrates.org's history
e-Socrates.org was born in 2003 as the first Italian free e-learning project. In all these years we gained the attention of many important events and some public administrations. The community counts now more than 10,000 users and 1,000 courses.
